Charlotte Motor Speedway is a major motorsports complex located in Concord just outside the Charlotte Area. The speedway opened in 1960. Since then, it is best known for hosting NASCAR events (Coca-Cola 600 and Bank of America ROVAL 400). The complex features a 1.5 mile quad oval track, a road course, and a drag strip. It has become a central hub for NASCAR activity, with many race teams based locally, and is considered one of the sport's most iconic venues.
