Freedom Park
Freedom park was established in 1948 and dedicated in 1949 to honor World War II veterans. Visitors can enjoy many activities which include paved trails, tennis, volleyball, basketball courts, and athletic fields to soccer, baseball, and more. The park also features playgrounds for children, picnic shelters, restrooms, and a bandshell for community events. Freedom Park connects to Little Sugar Creek Greenway which provides visitors with extended walking and biking trails. The park is also close to the Charlotte Nature Museum, operated by Discovery Place, which offers nature exhibits especially for children.
